What will I study?
Digital moving image production and creative media production are some of the fastest growing areas within the creative industries. This course prepares students for further education in media, film, video and television production and offers students the opportunity to develop an understanding of creative media methods and skills with practical production techniques, especially in digital moving image production. This is a practical, work-related course. Students will learn through projects, which will be based on realistic workplace situations. Students can work on editing, credits, visual effects, lighting and graphics projects to create their own documentary and art films. Alongside film making, you will also get an insight into cultural context, the origins and evolution of film. Students work on solo and team projects producing digital videos often writing, directing, filming and editing their own projects. Rye studio offers a ‘real world’ approach to projects and students are involved in producing works that contribute to larger scale public projects and commissions. The UAL award in Creative Media Production is delivered across two practical units and is the equivalent to a GCSE, students are assessed internally via coursework and practical ability there is no exam for this course. You will have the opportunity to learn skills from master-classes run by professionals within the film and broadcasting industries.
