On this course, you will be starting your journey towards becoming a professional film-maker. You will be introduced to the practical side of film making by creating animations, using film and digital cameras, working with actors and editing your own film footage. Alongside learning to make films you will also get an insight into where film has come from and the origins and evolution of film.
This course is practical and you will be asked to present your progress at regular intervals during your film making journey. The way you work things out has a value and you will be encouraged to keep a creative production journal that tracks your achievements as you make progress.
In addition to 4 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*-C, you will have a GCSE in Media or Photography at Grade C or above or a BTEC Level 2 Merit or Distinction in a related subject. You should have an enthusiasm for film, and a willingness to work independently as well as with others.
